Game Backstory

Our Flying Fox game would not be complete without its story – which provides meaning to everything that happens within Flying Fox: Endangered World.

“Over a century ago, the human race survived a devastating virus called Covid 19, the virus caused millions to die, nations to fall, economies to collapse, and shifted the hierarchical structure of the world. The money printing machine stopped, the fiat system was destroyed, and the banks were toppled. A new cashless monetary system arose, and a cryptocurrency revolution began, which would have made Satoshi Nakamoto proud.

A large portion of the world’s wealth was no longer held by the top 1 percent richest, but was now spread across 70% of the population. The masses were more in control and could decide on the future of their world, as governance was run under a decentralised autonomous organisational structure. This was a new world where the majority had access to most things, where there was barely any poverty and less struggles in life. There was low crime, low murder rates, low sickness rates and no more wars.

However, despite this fairer system, the one thing that never changed in humans was their greed. People continued to want more from the world, they consumed and hunted more species to extinction, feasted like the Romans and polluted like never before. Out of the 11 billion population, a small percentage cared about mother nature, the rest had become accustomed to living well.

At the start of December 2121, the worst began. During a live televised concert, an artist began to excessively bleed from his nose, and he subsequently collapsed. While the audience gazed in concern, something bizarre occurred, he sprung back to life and was filled with rage, he leapt towards the audience and began attacking them. Some died, and then rose back up and mimicked his erratic behaviour. This process multiplied until everyone in the audience had become rampant monsters, hungry for only one thing, the human flesh.

The military boarded off the area, containing the outbreak. Scientist extracted blood from one of the monsters to identify the cause. The worst was announced to the public, it was an aggressive mutation of Covid 19, labelled as Covid 2121. The reason for this new virus was said to be due to harmful waste in earth’s water, deforestation and the extinction of animals.

More nose bleeds occurred days later. At the end of December 2121, the human race became extinct. Their souls thought to be lost forever, until one day, Betty’s soul entered an endangered species. All human souls began to follow.”

The games are set in an ulterior universe where humans have died out and human souls live on as endangered animals. Players start off in the FTP game as Betty, a flying fox, and the first of the human souls to emerge within an endangered animal. The first challenge is to travel through the new world, while avoiding potential threats along the way.

Players that have completed the first Flying Fox game challenge will have the option to enter Flying Fox: Endangered World metaverse, through exchanging offchain coins collected in the FTP Game, for an NFT-avatar, in the form of a bat. This flying fox nft can be used to battle in the arena within our metaverse.

In the metaverse, players can participate in new challenges and earn rewards through successful completion. Flying fox NFTs can level up by gaining experience and knowledge points through these challenges, or through other competitions.

Flying Fox: Endangered World provides a fantasy place where players will also have the chance to challenge others; socialise with one-another; collect rare, endangered animal NFTs; and, most importantly, be themselves in their own avatars.

The difference between Flying Fox: Endangered World and traditional games, are the blockchain features ingrained within the game. This involves the “play to earn” model, endangered animal NFT series and a future decentralised structure. Not only will our audience be earning, but also learning about the endangered animals and blockchain technology, which are focused on throughout the game.
